Having any form of joint pain is a nightmare everyone wishes to avoid. We try everything within our power to make sure we avoid them by making sure we are always comfortable as we go about our daily affairs.

The most common of the joint pains is neck pain, and this can come from something as simple as sitting for a long time or even sleeping in the wrong position.

So, here are a few exercises that can help you get rid of the ever uncomfortable problem that is neck pain.

Neck Retraction

Bring the head straight back, keeping your eyes forward then return to a neutral position.

Head Drop

Tip your head back as far as it can comfortably go pointing your chin toward the ceiling. Return to a neutral position.

Side Bend

Reach over the top of your head with your left hand and gently pull your left ear to your left shoulder.  Repeat for the right side.


Turn your head to the left so that your nose is over your shoulder.  Return to a neutral position.  Repeat on the right side.


Put your hands behind your head and guide the head down, bringing your chin toward your the chest.

Shoulder Blade Pull

Raise your arms and bend them so that your hands are directly at the base of your neck.  Relax your shoulders and squeeze the muscles between the shoulder blades.

A combination of two or more of these exercises every day, should help you get rid of the pain, ease your stress, and restore some semblance of normalcy to your neck.
